CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz Committee To Distribute Free Plots
Under Apni Chhat Apna Ghar welfare scheme of the Punjab government, 3 and 5 marla plots will be given to homeless citizens keeping transparency and fair in the allotment process. It was further directed that the committee will finalize the rules and regulation including the allotment of plot and strict implementation of the same. Under this initiative, housing schemes are being opened in many districts. Thirty-five housing schemes have been completed in 22 districts while 9 more schemes in 7 districts are under work.
This project also aims at providing financial assistance to citizens to finish constructing their homes. A total of Rs. 8.2 billion worth loans have been given for construction of a total of 9,015 houses, out of which 2,050 have received their second installment. Also, 4,841 homes are now under construction. Apni Chhat Apna Ghar scheme, which offers apartments for self-accommodation, has evoked a great response from the public with over 728,000 visits on the online portal and more than 400,000 applications successfully submitted.

Transparent and Fair Distribution of Plots:
To ensure transparency and equity, the Punjab government has introduced a set of structured eligibility criteria. The eight-member committee has been entrusted with the task of allotting plots to those who deserve it without any political or financial influence. The government said plots will be allocated through a merit-based selection process in order to eliminate any possibility of corruption or favoritism.
Development of Housing Schemes Across Punjab:
So far, 35 housing schemes have been completed in 22 districts under the scheme and 9 other schemes are in development in 7 districts. They also house beneficiaries in a secure and friendly environment with basic utilities and infrastructure.

Financial Assistance for Home Construction:
Punjab government is also providing financial assistance to the citizens for constructing their houses, along with offering free plots. So far:
🔸Loans worth Rs. 8.215 billion have been released for 9,015 houses.
🔸2,050 people have already been paid their second batch of funds.
🔸A total of 4,841 homes are under construction under this scheme.
